Shipping: The First Art Mail Club
A print, a beginning, and something you can hold
We have grown used to a world where everything arrives instantly and nothing arrives at all.
This weekend, I’m sending out the very first package for Art Mail Club.
I started this as a simple idea. If someone decides to support this Substack as a paid subscriber, I wanted to give something back that feels tangible. Something you can hold in your hands, not just on a screen.
It was important to me that, everything I make on my sub stays free. The meditations, the writing, the artwork, the reflections from my studio. I never wanted to build a wall around this practice. But I did want to create a way to return that support with something meaningful.
So I offer two exclusive things to my paid subscribers.
The first is a standing discount on prints through my gallery at larkinart.co.
The second is Art Mail Club. A quiet exchange. Where I send you art in the mail. At least once a quarter. And sometimes more.
I was late on this first one. Life moved how it moves. So I’ll likely send a few this quarter to catch up. That feels right.
This first package is a print from my very first mural in the Azores, Portugal.

It’s a portrait of Muddy Waters, painted on Sao Miguel island. There’s something about that moment that still feels like a beginning to me - so I wanted to share it with my people.
Each print is signed and dated by hand. Limited. Small. Personal. And with a little note in tow.
You can keep it, collect them all or gift it.
Honestly, I’m just glad to be putting something real into the world on a regular basis. Something that can arrive.

If you want to join Art Mail Club, I’d love to have you.
I’ll send you art. I’ll send good vibes.
And maybe a little love note too.

This is so touching Shabazz. 🫂
I love waking up everyday and seeing this piece you created for us.
Now to have you offer this in your first mailing, I feel deeply moved.
Besides being a thoughtful and thought-provoking artist, you are by far a special, required human being that I have had the high honor and pleasure to spend a little time with.
Peace be with you Shabazz, you are loved. 🧡
