There’s a particular kind of person who is interested in everything. That’s me. And maybe Bethany too. But she’s found a way to do soooo many things at once and I wanted to find out how.
I’m the kind of person with too many tabs open not in my browser - in my life!! Too many ideas. Too many paths that all feel meaningful.
For people like us, curiosity is both a blessing and a burden.
That’s part of what I kept thinking about during my conversation with Bethany Bauman.
How do you stay open to possibility without becoming scattered by it?
How do you honor your many interests while still committing deeply enough to build something real?
I don’t think enough people talk about the grief of realizing you cannot become every version of yourself at once. That eventually, saying no is not rejection. It’s direction. But Bethany doesn’t seem phased by this dilemna. What am I getting wrong?
Bethany’s work feels rooted in play and adventure and i love that. it’s like she’s just open to trying anything.
For people like us. The ones flooded with ideas. Maybe focus is not the death of curiosity.
Maybe focus gives curiosity a home.
Enjoy the interview.
